Our Discovery Series events, which run in late Term 1 and early Term 2, intend to give students an insight into a selection of current scientific issues and provide a taster of the full conference experience. We market ourselves as Europe’s first student-run science conference and as a logical next step, this year we thought;

 

“Why not take advantage of the wealth of talent in our student body and provide students with the opportunity to present at one of our events?”

We searched for motivated and passionate Student Speakers from departments across the University of York's Faculty of Sciences to give an approx. The 10-minute presentation and 5 minute Q&A session on a scientific topic of their choice to a virtual audience.

We were lucky enough to have six students present their scientific topic of choice on the 17th November 2020. The schedule can be seen below. You can also find a recording of the event below.
