Is there a dress code?
No, please wear whatever you are most comfortable with. If that means being suited and botted or in jeans and t-shirt, you can be reassured that we won't judge! According to the Met Office, the weather will be typically rainy so you may want to consider this when choosing your articles of clothing.
Will there be lunch provided?
We will not be providing lunch, however there are plenty of places where you can purchase your own food! (Besides, why give us £5 for food you may like when you could buy lunch yourself for £4 that you will definetly like!)
I cannot come in the morning, can I come later?
Yes! Our registration desk will be open to 13:30. We will be registering delegates for workshops in the morning which means that your first choice of workshop may no longer be avaliable unless you pre-register (see next question).
How can I reserve a space for a particular workshop?
You can email with your workshop choices, and you will be pre-registered. Email us again if you change you mind! In the interest of fairness, we will be only be doing for the first 50% of slots.
For students living on campus, the Ron Cooke Hub is a short walk from Goodricke, Langwith and Constantine. For those living on Heslington West, please take either the university's free shuttle bus 66 or 66a bus. Cycling and walking are also viable options. The 66a will drop you off directly outside the Ron Cooke Hub. (You will be next to a small lake - and likely geese!) For those using the 66, you want to get off at the last stop (You would have passed Nisa, and be next to a car-park).
The nearest train station is York Station. Take Bus 66 from the station bus stop. This will take approxmiately 15-20minutes. Pleases visit First Bus for prices.
Taxis are familiar with the venue and will take around 12 minutes to reach the Ron Cooke Hub from York Station. Uber's cost £9 - £12 without fare surge.
Parking is reserved for Exhibitors, Speakers, and VIPs. We cannot guarantee parking on the day, however, there should be plenty of space for all. Parking is £1/hr.
